How to get Google Meet meeting minutes automatically
Taking notes in a Google Meet meeting forces you to choose between listening and writing. The alternative is minutes that write themselves: decisions, action items with owners and transcript, ready when the call ends. Here's how, with or without a paid Google plan.
What Google Meet includes
Google Meet offers recording, transcripts and automatic notes only on some paid Google Workspace editions, and each feature has its own requirements and languages. With a personal Gmail account or a basic edition you usually don't have them.
Even when you do, a transcript isn't minutes: you still need to separate what was decided from what was said, and know who owns each task.
With an assistant: paste the link
In SwiftBOL, open “Meeting assistant”, paste the Google Meet link (meet.google.com/…), confirm participants are informed and click “Send the bot”. The assistant asks to join like any guest: admit it, and when it joins it posts in the chat that it is recording.
It works with meetings from personal Google accounts and Google Workspace, and Meet doesn't need recording turned on.
Automatically: from Google Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar (read-only permission), the assistant joins the meetings in your calendar that have a video link on its own. You choose whether it joins all of them or only the ones you organize, and you can cancel any of them. Move a meeting and it's rescheduled; delete or decline it and it's cancelled.
No bot: record the tab
If you don't want anyone else to join, open Google Meet in Chrome or Edge on a computer, go to SwiftBOL and click “Record a video call from another tab”. Pick the meeting's tab and tick “Also share tab audio”. When you stop, SwiftBOL prepares the minutes just the same.
The minutes you get
Attendees, summary, decisions, action items with owners and dates, and the full transcript to search or ask questions. You choose the format (formal minutes, key points, executive summary…), export to Word or PDF and send it to Slack, Notion, HubSpot or Salesforce.
Your meetings are stored in the European Union and never used to train AI. The Free plan includes 1 hour of assistant a month, no card.
Try it with your own audio
SwiftBOL turns your meetings and calls into minutes with decisions and action items in minutes. The Free plan includes 120 minutes of audio a month, no credit card required.
